Future Hope...

Someone asked me what my future hope was.

I am looking forward to seeing my Savior. There are times when I wish that He would come and get us now. It gets hard down here with folk acting a fool. Even church folk manage to act like they don't have any sense. I can't wait to go home.

I have to take comfort in this verse...
John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Preaching to the Choir

I watched Preaching to the Choir last night. It was good. It is about two brothers who become estranged after their parents die. One of them becomes a rapper, the other becomes a preacher. The rapper gets into trouble and has to come home. He helps his brother's church choir get ready for the city-wide choir competition, while discovering that he belongs at home anyway. I liked the ending because it was not typical of these types of movies.

This Is Only A Test (James 1:2-4)

2: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3: Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4: But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

I had a crazy day today. Everything went crazy. I even got cursed out by someone who bumped into me in a grocery store. I think that the guy wanted to fight with me. I had to quote James 1:2 to myself, just to hold my peace.

I ended the whole conversation with… "God bless you, my brother."

I Can't Wait (Hebrews 9:27-28)

27: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

When I read these two scriptures today, I became overwhelmed. I am so glad that I am saved. I realize that I am not saved because I am so good, but because God is so good.

I can't wait until Jesus comes back to get me.

I am 30 years old.
I am grateful that God saved me.

I am grateful that Jesus died for me.
I am a member of the Absanie Baptist Church.
I am a member of the Absanie Community Choir.
